- November 2nd Whoops - this is CANCELLED Whoever set this
one up forgot that November 2nd is the big euchre tournament -- so we'll have to be quiet and
probably play in Jim's Kitchen instead.
Acoustic session at Bridgewater Bank, about 7 or 7:30PM in downtown Bridgewater, MI. (Don't worry, you'll see it --
everything in downtown Bridgewater is within spittin' distance!) Once again we'll be competing with the bar patrons to see who's louder.
But we have an advantage: music tends to cut through the noise. Atmosphere is comfy, food is good and the beer is cold!
- October 30th Pickin' @ Art On The Farm: ~11AM to 5PM: Local artists exhibit their wares and creations; a diverse yet intimate
happening, out at Lauren Kingsley's and Jack Spack, Jr.'s farm. Starting at about 1PM, we'll have an informal pickin' party involving 3 or 4 of us, plus
some other possible musicians. We hope Regis brings his accordian to join us on polka medleys,
and other accordian-friendly tunes.
We'll be the noisy guests, probably near the barn. (We're comfortable in the barn, but we suspect those darn
artists will be kicking us out ;-)
Come out to the farm on a beautiful Autumn day and support local artists -- or just come out and
"laugh at the world" as Spack suggests.
It's really quite something to see all the different artists set up booths in and around the barns.
Here's just one example of the type of art that will be there:
Painted Trout: Handpainted Accessories
- October 21st Orion Auto party-in-exile!! A continuation of Mike Cox's annual big shin-dig, but this time it's just a little

Chad Jeremy of Lonesome County Bluegrass Band We're gonna swing & rock out
more than doing just bluegrass.

this Fall event, then by all means please come out and enjoy a wonderful time. Potluck dinner and hayrides starting about 6. Music and dancing

machinery, including steam-engines! Experience this beautiful nature center during their impressive
annual Heritage Harvest Festival. 3854 Crawford Rd., Dryden MI.
- September 4th Private party in Manchester for Jimmy's buddy Mel, who runs Mel's Roofing. Quite the shindig!

annual Hootenanny courtesy of Johnny, at his historic schoolhouse. It's generally
an all-night jam with some fine musicians.
Chris Buhalis claims that up there
you can catch "brookies" and "brownies" -- Jim & Mark are excited about that!

Acoustic DylanFest held at
Johnny's Speakeasy. Mark might join us if he's not camping with his family.

- July 16th afternoon Another old-time jam session. Same details as July 2nd. Hey guess what!! Last time we were
tickled to have KC Groves of Uncle Earl join us while she was on vacation.
Congratulations and kudos to KC and the rest of the band for being signed to Rounder Records. KC jumped right in, doin' some fine pickin' on her mandolin. (Thanks KC for the clarification on the
mando-strummin' chucka-chucka's vs. the floppa-floppas.) Plus the multi-talented Jim Roll played guitar and some fiddle until they left for the beach.
- July 2nd in Manchester: Chuck (and possibly Mark) will be joining other old-time
players for a fiddle jam. We've been getting together a fair number of times, and
finally we can let folks know. According to Mark Palms, who's one of the fiddlers and also
one of the main organizers of the Riverfolk Festival " the Coffee Mill in Manchester
has been buzzing about the Sat sessions and on the street they are asking "when are they coming back?"
So join us from 2-5 PM at the Coffee Mill on Main Street, (diagonal across the bridge from
the Dairy Queen.)
This group gathers from corners across the state of Michigan. Guitarist
Carl Johnson drives from Eaton Rapids, claw-hammer banjoist Doug Carpenter hails from
Dexter, fiddler Michael Zivzak is from Chelsea, fiddler Hanno comes from Lansing, fiddler
David Orlin
resides in Ann Arbor, and Mark Palms is in Manchester.

New Orleans. Special guest Mary Seelhorst will be joining us on fiddle! Don't
miss Jeff & Vida - come down to Johnny's SpeakEasy, 8PM. (Email ChuckRay for location.)

song about the legend of Sleeping Bear Dunes involving a mama bear and her two
